Émilie Gauthier

Émilie was born and raised on the unceded territory of the Innu Nation. They are of mixed Innu and settler French Canadian ancestry. They graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor of social sciences with honours in criminology and was awarded the Faculty of Social Sciences plaque for the highest standing in their program. Émilie is pursuing a Master of Arts in sociology on traditional Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee territory at Queen’s University. Their research interests center around cybercriminality, constructivism and exploring alternatives to criminalization. Émilie received the Province of Quebec’s Lieutenant Governor’s Youth Medal and the Governor General's Academic Medal (Bronze) in 2017. Émilie is very grateful for all that they have learned since starting their work with Reciprocal Consulting. They would like to pursue a Ph.D. in the coming years with the intention of doing research as a career.
